About Batik Material Each piece is handcrafted individually, making imperfections a part of its beauty. Due to its handmade nature, no two pieces will have the exact same color. How is Batik Made? *Hot wax is stamped onto plain white fabric using handcrafted blocks. *The fabric is then dyed in a specific color. *It is dried naturally in open air. *Finally, the wax is removed. What to Expect? Since Batik is made using a traditional process, customers may notice: *Residual wax on the fabric. *Wrinkles due to the cleaning process (sometimes mistaken for an "old" look). *Slight variations in color compared to photos. *The use of thick fabric, as thinner fabrics do not hold wax well.
